What the course is for
SEATS is the CITB one-day environmental awareness course for site supervisors and managers. Most people sit it once, pass it, and forget it. This preparation course does two things: it gets you ready for the SEATS day in plain English, and it puts the carbon numbers everyone quotes into honest, checkable context — so what you say on site about CO2 stands up.
- Preparation for the SEATS syllabus — environmental law and duties, waste, water and pollution control, nuisance, ecology and heritage, energy and carbon
- The CO2 truth: the UK’s emissions and construction’s share, in context and with sources, rather than slogans
- Written for people who build things — supervisors, managers, TWCs and TWSs — not for policy desks

Preparation, not certification
This course prepares you for SEATS; it is not the CITB course itself and does not issue a SEATS certificate. Book the accredited SEATS day through a CITB-approved training organisation. Figures in the course are given with their sources so you can check them yourself.
